In the ‘old days’, back when I was 13kgs heavier than I am today (over a decade ago now) I used to sit and eat 3 pieces of cake or 3 ice blocks (Magnums, Gay Times or Cornetto’s). However, there was no satisfying me even upon completion of those. There was a good reason for that too. I wasn’t nourished. Our bodies are constantly looking to survive.

Reminder: We are animals.

If we aren’t nourished daily then we’re seeking… For example someone on a low carbohydrate diet (even if it’s a ‘healthy’ one) will be seeking out more carbohydrates (hello binge ice cream session) they would be satiated and nourished with healthy carbohydrates (the way I educate you to eat on my Food Dynamics programs) but in desperation will often reach for bad carbohydrates. Just as a person who is tired may reach for coffee instead of taking a nap. The answers are all here and once we reconnect with what our body actually needs it becomes much simpler and more deeply satisfying.

Chocolate Cheesecake with Slimming Powers – Raw Recipe


1 cup raw almonds
10 pitted Medjool dates (soaked 10 minutes prior)
½ cup raw cacao powder (cacao (is raw) and is the metabolism increasing agent that cocoa (cooked chocolate) will never be)
1/2 tbsp. coconut oil
tiny pinch sea salt

2 cups raw cashews
3/4 cup coconut oil
3/4 cup maple syrup
tiny pinch sea salt
1/2 cup raw cacao powder
1/2 tsp vanilla powder


Soak the raw cashews for 3-5 hours.

Place all the base ingredients into a food processor or high-speed blender (must be high speed! I use Omniblend Australia and love it, discount code upon purchase is WildDonna). Process until dough is formed.

Place the base mixture into a pan pressing down the mixture with fingers (it’s more fun that way) until flat.

Place all the filling ingredients into food processor/blender and process until smooth and pour on top of the base. Spread evenly.

Transfer the cheesecake to the freezer for at least 4 hours. Place on bench 5 mins before serving. Remove the pan, slice and serve.
